Learn how to install and configure the app Smart Fields for Jira.

You need to be a Jira administrator to install apps!

Install the app

1. Click on the Explore more apps icon in your sidebar.

2. The Atlassian Marketplace page will be displayed, in the search bar, type in Smart Fields

3. The app will appear on the list, select it and start your free trial

Create your first smart field

Now that the app is installed, it’s time create your first smart field.

You need to be a Jira administrator to create custom fields.

Start by browsing to either the Get started or the field overview page and find the “Create smart field” button.

💡 Tip: The Field overview page works just like a control center — you can create new fields, check their status, and edit existing ones without jumping between multiple Jira admin screens.

Soon you will be able to use the command palette to directly browse to these pages!
