sumUp goes Forge – Here's what it means for you!
Following Atlassian’s announcement to deprecate the Connect framework in favour of a more modern, secure, and performant Forge platform, we are excited to share that sumUp for Jira Cloud is making the move too.
Why Move to Forge?
Enhanced Security: Apps run entirely on Atlassian’s infrastructure with built-in security controls.
Better Performance: Hosted closer to Jira, ensuring faster, more reliable interactions.
Future-Ready: Forge is Atlassian’s long-term platform, enabling access to new features and APIs.
Simplified Maintenance: Atlassian handles hosting and scaling, reducing operational overhead.
Deeper Integrations: Enables more seamless, native connections with Jira and other Atlassian tools.
Impact on you: manual update required!
One important change with the move to Forge is how updates are delivered. Previously, updates were rolled out automatically to all users. Going forward, major releases that introduce new Forge modules will require manual installation by Jira administrators.
